We are a group of ordinary people who have had an extraordinary experience through receiving God’s promise in our lives – the gift of the Holy Spirit.

We are ordinary people from your community.  We all come from different walks of life but are united through our personal experience with the living God.  We are different in one respect only. God has done something extraordinary in our lives. He has given us a hope and power to fulfill that hope.
We meet in your local community and would warmly welcome you at any of our meetings or events.  You can expect a friendly and happy group of people who love to share their experiences of how God has proved Himself to them with signs, wonders and miracles.  At our meetings you will hear lively singing and testimonies of the power of God in people’s lives. You’ll hear a presentation straight from the Bible and can witness speaking in tongues (the sign of the Holy Spirit).  You can even have prayer to receive this gift for yourself!

The Holy Spirit experience

Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints – Jude 1:3

Revival Centres Church bases its teaching on the Holy Spirit experience. This includes miraculous signs following, and instruction from the Bible. ‘Contending for the faith’ is to simply follow and apply the scriptures in a holistic and correct way. Or put simply, whatever He says to you, do it! (John 2:5)

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness – 2 Timothy 3:16

Having a personal relationship with God is the promise of the Bible. In a Revival Centre Church you will meet normal people who have had an extraordinary experience. The new testament of the Bible describes a church that changed the world, full of people who knew God. It talks about salvation as a foundational experience from an answering God.

Do you want to receive the Holy Spirit?

Jesus didn’t die to bring us dead religion. He came to fulfill God’s plan, and pour out the Promise. He didn’t rely on finding strong, smart, good people. Instead He sent the Holy Spirit to change people. He called it being born again. Afterwards, nothing would be the same again. Ever.

Part of a worldwide family

Wider than Wellington, the Revival Centres Church is an international church group consisting around 300+ assemblies covering Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Fiji, Italy, Kenya, Papua New Guinea, Malawi, the United Kingdom and the United States of America.
No matter which Revival Centres Church you visit, you will hear the full gospel message of Jesus, the promise of the Holy Spirit, and signs following.  Each local church is full of people who have received that promise and the accompanying signs.  This tangible experience includes miraculous healing and speaking in tongues which is a sign of the holy spirit.  They know they have a part in God’s plan.

Our beginnings

Our foundation is based on the events recorded in Acts 2 in the Bible, where the disciples of Jesus were filled with the Holy Spirit. This same experience, with the Bible sign of speaking in other tongues, is still how people join the church today. … and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance – Acts 2:4
Our founding pastor, the late Lloyd Longfield, was filled with the Holy Spirit in 1948. From these exciting beginnings, Revival Centres has grown into a world-wide fellowship of spirit-filled believers. Over the years we’ve been known as Revival Centres of Australia, Revival Centres International, and more recently Revival Centres Church. Importantly, an adherence to the full gospel message hasn’t changed!

Our missions

Since the early 1970s when our first mission began, the Revival Centres Church have been thankful for the opportunity to take the gospel all over the world. Our mission areas have been most rewarding, as they are often at the forefront of rapid growth in numbers of people receiving the gospel. The opportunity to witness many people being baptised, and filled with the Holy Spirit is something not soon forgotten.
Our missions work with an emphasis on equipping local people to run their own assemblies. We have no standing missionaries as such, preferring to train and encourage the locals in the gospel and in church leadership, at the same time endeavouring to avoid a paternalistic approach.
We support them with regular visits, particularly from pastors and officers, but also groups of assembly members and young peoples groups. These visits are rewarding – both for the visitors and their hosts.
